It was all smiles at York Hospital's children's ward, as building work continued on the new high dependency unit.
Patrick Crowley, chief executive at the hospital, took time out from his busy schedule to see how the work was progressing.
The ten-week building project is set to finish in July and it is hoped the life-saving unit will be up and running by the end of the summer.
But fundraising must carry on for The Press's Guardian Angels' Appeal because we still need another £50,000 to buy all the necessary equipment.
The appeal was launched in October 2005 to raise £300,000 to build a unit that will transform the way York Hospital cares for its sickest children.
